1. the first Tuesday of the month is always free at Quail (SAN DIEGO) Botanical Gardens, you will still have to pay for parking!
2. 1st Tuesday is (in my opinion) the best FREE Balboa Park day ~ if you are a SD resident you get free admission to the Rueben H Fleet Science Center, The Railroad Museum (which is hard to find if you have never been, it is actually underground), and the Natural History Museum ~ these are all great museums for families including those with young kids.
