I almost missed this one!  I saw a flier on my way to the gym this morning - yay! 'Don't Cook Tuesdays' is a fun event that happens every Tuesday in San Marcos (North County) - lots of restaurants have special deals on Tuesday nights to encourage us all to eat out.

I hope you aren't on a diet....

So there are two awesome specials going on tomorrow July 29th - neither are very figure friendly - but we all gotta live a little.

Option one ~

'Free Lasagna Day!' at Buca di Beppo - you get a free lunch portion of lasagna with any entree purchase.  We have gone to Buca di Beppo a few times when they have had specials like this going on and every time we used their famous $10 off a $20 purchase coupon with no trouble.  I am sure many of you have a copy from the coupon inserts in the newspaper - also - you can check out redplum.com for a printable coupon!

Option two ~

Be a fan of The Cheesecake Factory on facebook and you can preview their Reeses Peanut Butter Cheesecake for a mere $1.50 with the printable coupon.  (FYI - the next day they will have half off cheesecake for all!)

Option three ~

Combine option one and two.  I don't exactly endorse option three, but I don't judge.

Normally you cannot combine coupons/promos with other discounts however - a few of these restaurants you can sometimes buy gift cards for at Costco at about 80% off.  My husband and I REALLY enjoy 333 Pacific - we only go a couple times a year, but when we do we get the gift card at Costco and take advantage of one of their specials too - not all have a discount gift card available, I just thought I should mention.  Next time you are at Costco check out the restaurant gift cards!!

Donovan's Steak House $39 per person dinner & wine

Repost! Apparently this deal is still going on!

My hubby took me out for a date this Saturday to the very fancy Donovan's Steak House in La Jolla.  We just had to check out their $39 deal and it was awesome!

They have a special right now that is $39 for a three course dinner along with a glass of wine or one non-alcoholic drink of your choice. There were three starter choices, three dinner choices, and two awesome dessert choices.  We thought everything was delicious!

Side note - we love to go out to dinner, but we rarely go out without a coupon or when there is some kind of special running.  We are very good tippers, but the waiter doesn't know that in the beginning.  We have had lots of different reactions when we go somewhere nice and try to take advantage of an advertised discount - usually a grumpy reaction...this was not the case at Donovans!  Our servers treated us so well (which I believe they should no matter what - it just isn't always the case when you are being frugal.) 

Our server said he has not seen a deal like this in the 9 years he had been working there & they were very happy to see more people come in the door.  Make sure to take advantage if you have a special occasion coming up!
