'Fine Free Friday!' ~ ALL SD County Libraries!

Do you have an overdue library book, CD, or DVD?  If it is from a County Library you are in luck - bring it by this Friday to return and you will be able to return with no fine!

We have two (yes TWO!) overdue movies this month - at our library that is $1 a day for each movie! They are overdue by over a week! Had I returned them on the right day I would have borrowed another, so it isn't like I am holding onto too many resources, but we will hold on to them until Friday to avoid the fines.

The library system really doesn't make money on fines, they really just eventually need to books back - so make sure to take advantage of this awesome program!

Last Friday of the Month - FINES WAIVED AT SD COUNTY LIBRARIES!

Do you have an overdue CD, DVD, or book(s) you borrowed from any San Diego County Library? Well make sure to return it Friday 9/24! The last Friday of every month the library forgives all overdue fines.  The library does not really make money on fines so don't feel like you are cheating the system at all.  It does cost the library money to try to track those books and other material down - so you are actually saving them money by bringing them back promptly!  The last Friday fines waived policy is a great win win for everyone!

Please note this is at County Libraries (NOT City Libraries).

SAN DIEGO COUNTY Library Fines waived FRIDAY June 25th (last friday of the month)

Return your books, CDs, DVDs and other overdue materials on the last Friday of each month and your fines will be erased! The Library does not really make money on the fines - they really just want their books back.


They will waive fines THIS Friday! JUNE 25, 2010 - you bring it in & the fine is waived - easy as that!

If you do have fines, make sure to check that they remove them - an easy way to check is to check out another item - the computer will let you know if you have any outstanding fines - simply let the librarian know & they will take it off manually.  Easy Peasy!

This is all San Diego COUNTY Libraries - but apparently not City Libraries - some libraries are independant from the County and do NOT participate (one being Oceanside) - please double check with yours, the majority of libraries are County libraries - so most likely yours is participating!

Library fees waived this Friday!

If you forgot to return your library books, DVD's, CD's, etc and are having fines pile up - keep the last Friday of the month in mind.  The library isn't mad at you, they don't really make money for the budget out of fines, they really just want their books back.

We have only taken advantage of this program once, but ours were so overdue it saved us about $15! - EVERY LAST FRIDAY YOU CAN RETURN OVERDUE BOOKS FOR FREE!

This coming Friday just bring your books, etc back to the circulation desk - it is that simple.

PS - if you have kids & don't regularly go to the library, you really should check it out! Our kids checked out 'The Aristocats' 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua', 2 audio books, and 2 regular books - plus they had so much fun at the free craft day!  I also always check out the 'friends of the library' bookstore - yesterday I treated myself to a magazine for a whole 10 cents!
