Legoland 'Model Moms' Passes are a GREAT Deal!

If you have kids (or grandkids) under 4 years old, a 'Model Mom' pass may be a great investment for you.

Legoland (in my opinion) at face value is kind of a rip off.  They do often have good incentives to get you in the door, and rip off or not, little kids LOVE it.

One thing our family has enjoyed in the past is the 'Model Mom' pass.  It is much less expensive (but of course more restrictive) than the typical pass, but still a great deal.

Here is the breakdown ~

*a Model Mom pass is $77 for the whole year
*you must be the parent, grandparent, or caregiver to a child under 4
(birth certificate is necessary - our son was adopted from Russia - and let me tell you - it is pretty amusing to watch the guest relation guy pretend to verify the info on a birth certificate that is written in a language he clearly doesn't read, but that is another story...)
*you are only allowed to come on Thursdays - every Thursday in the year, but only Thursday
*free parking on Thursdays
*discounts on food at most restaurants
*fun activites just for 'Model Moms' - ie - FREE Stroller Strides class the first Thursday of the month
*lots of free family passes - the year we had a pass we had several free passes to share with Daddy & others who wanted to join occasionally but didnt want the commitment of the pass.

*Here is the only thing that irks me about the Model Mom pass - your kids are free until they turn 3 years old.  The model mom pass if for parents (etc) of kids under 4.  Once your child turns 3 you will need to get them a pass as well - here is the kicker - there is no 'Model kids' version - if you want to bring your kids in with you, you will need to get them the full year pass - good multiple days - not just Thursday & of course not nearly as good of a deal & of course they expect you then to purchase an upgrade for yourself - that bugs me personally.

We took advantage of this deal when our kids were 2 years old - I got a 'Model Mom' pass just that year and just didn't renew once they turned 3. We have found other online incentives to go to Legoland on a budget since then, but those Thursday playdates sure were fun!
