For those of you who think Gymboree is just too expensive, it is worth considering again. I only shop there when there are sales (uh, I only shop anywhere when there is a sale) and great clearance mark downs. Gymboree goes through new lines like most people go through socks, so everything is still very cute and stylish, but marked down very quickly. My kids have several gymboree tops that were $1.99 or $2.99. If you sign up for their 'circle of friends' they will send you discount coupons - usually 20% off a purchase and this is usually combinable with any sale (except gymbucks redemption). I also only shop when there are Gymbucks earning - I think of that as an additional 25% off - when you spend $50 you earn $25 off a future purchase of $50 or more. You can also sign up for their free rewards program - points add up to free store credit - it doesnt expire, so even if it adds up slowly, you should get one.
I have found that Gymboree clothes last the longest of any brand I put my kiddos in, and the best part for me is that I have found that I can usually sell their clothes on ebay (preworn) for more than what I paid for them - my husband jokes that our kids are pretty much paying for themselves at this point - haha!
Enjoy ~
Kate
