Our family went yesterday - to be honest it was a little smaller than we anticipated, but still VERY fun with lots of great free stuff for the kids to do. Remember all street parking is metered including Sundays - they have added the convienence (or curse depending on how you look at it) of accepting credit cards at many of the meters.
Our kids really enjoyed the Home Depot booth where they were able to design their own tile to take & also were able to pick out a plant to pot & carry home (for grandma *sigh* so cute). They also really enjoyed the traditional Chinese dragon that dances through the street.
The 28th annual San Diego Chinese New Year fair celebrates the Year of the Tiger.
The two-day celebration, will feature Chinese acrobats, lion and dragon dancers, Chinese folk dance and music, martial arts, and the Asian Story Theater. Families can also participate in Chinese crafts, Chinese calligraphy, and a children’s activity area.
The festival will take place at the Asian Pacific Thematic Historic District in downtown San Diego (Third Ave. and J Street) on Saturday, February 20 and Sunday February 21, 2010. 10am - 5pm both days!
Lots of free entertainment, but make sure to bring money for food & vendors too!
