Target's customer service number

So a reader just told me their Target's manager told them they could not coupon stack.  Unless the corporate policy changed literally yesterday this manager was wrong.  I just tried calling corporate to double check, of course they are closed, so I will try again tomorrow....if I am wrong, I will repost - but corporate policy allows for two coupons - one Target coupon & one Manufactures coupon to be used for one item (not two Target coupons or two Man coupons, but one of each)

Here is their customer service number - 1-800-440-0680

click here for a printable copy that clearly states they allow 'stacking' (this is awesome - the last time i searched for it online i was told this info did not exist online - SO NICE that it can be printed out now!)

SHould an employee tell you that stacking is not allowed (even a manager) you can school them (kindly of course - but they should know their corporate policy).

I have several blogger friends all over the country who have had similar complaints over the years - managers or employees making up their own rules - but as far as I know the corporate policy continues to be the same as it always was.

A BIG THANK YOU to Cyndi who alerted me that they now have the policy in print! Thanks so much!!

Happy Shopping ~

  1. Kate- I had a problem at a Target in El Cajon who told me she would not accept my coupon because if she did then I would get the item for free...just pay tax. It was an impossible scenario for her to grasp and she called customer service over and they also told me that could not be right so they did not take my coupon.

I could have argued but didn't. I just said okay thank you and left my goodies there. I drove to the nearest Target in Santee and it all went through beautifully. This stuff will happen and I do remember reading another post, I think on Coupon Gal with similar scenario.

My solution, San Diego is so big that there is bound to be another target close by. Why stress yourself out. No coupon strategy is worth the stress. You win some and you loose some. I do believe corporate policy is the same just one of those things.

  2. well - i wouldn't argue, but i would have the print out of the policy handy - it certainly isnt worth stressing out over, but they should abide by their company policy. I would show them the policy, then ask to talk to a manager, then just not buy the item if they still wont honor it - i would also make sure to make a formal complaint. and, yes i would just find another target that is willing to follow the policy.
I never feel bad about coupon stacking even if it makes the item free for me - the Target coupon is a discount from Target but the Manufacturers coupon is reimbursed by the Manufacturer, so Target still makes money AND the Manufacturer still makes money - they share the cost...anyway - sorry to hear that some stores are giving people trouble - Vista doesn't...yet!
