Oceanside Residents ~ Check out Listos ~ fun free playtime for little ones

First off - they don't have a website (lame)

Second off - if you aren't an Oceanside resident you can't go (also lame)

Third off - (and I think it redeems both one and two) it is completely free courtesy of California smokers - yep - tobacco taxes pay for this awesome free child play center - so if you are a smoker - the good people of Oceanside thank you for funding Listos.  If you are not a smoker - we all thank you for other reasons - like cleaner air, lower health care costs.....oops, almost went up on a soapbox there....

Anyway - back to what I was saying...

Listos Parent-Child Center: 901 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054, 760-901-7370,
Open 9 a.m.-3 p.m on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday

We have friends who live in Oceanside (LUCKY!) who play there all the time - they say it is a fun preschool like setting where kids have tons of crafts, storytime, etc.  You must stay with your child, it is NOT a drop off, but it is totally free, safe, fun!

If you have been - would you be so kind as to leave a comment about your experience?

Enjoy ~
Kate

  1. A word of caution: many Oceanside residents are within the Vista school district boundaries. LISTOS is part of the Oceanside Unified School District, and you need to provide your address and ID. Their computer system knows the boundaries, so you will be turned away if you cannot show proof of residence within the OUSD boundaries. Also, they are CLOSED on Wednesdays. They are open M,T,Th,F.

  4. It is
a great place where kids can play. With others and parents can play along too. Meet other parents, ask questions and just talk to other adult. Listos has been the best place for my kids.they have learned to play together and became more creative with crafts and better with sharing. I love the staff, their very involved in your child and their growth. I will be sorry when they leave.
