one more Egg Hunt for the early birds
Went to Sprout's in San Marcos tonight to find out about yet another Egg Hunt. Saturday morning at 6:30am (yes that is not a typo!) they will have an egg hunt (free) in their store. Each egg will have fun goodies inside, but some will have extra special prizes and there are HUGE Easter baskets you can win.
I'm just gonna put this out there....there is absolutely no way you will see me there - but if you and your kids are early birds - knock yourselves out!

Oh if only there was something free to entertain the kids this Saturday....

Ikea is offering free breakfast & free coffee all weekend
Lakeshore Learning Center has an adorable free bunny craft for kids to make & take 11am - 3pm
Michaels has an Easter pail craft - free make & take 10am - 1pm
Home Depot also has a free make & take! 9am - noon - make a butterfly house
Bank of America customers can check out a free museum!
SD Children's Film Festival will be showing 'the Great Mouse Detective' at 1pm
Generations Church at 1106 Whaley Street Oceanside, CA 92054 is also hosting what looks like a very fun Easter Event from 11am - 4pm on Saturday April 3rd. There will be games, activities, and food ~ all for free! The public is welcome - bring a friend!
MAGIC 92.5 and Z90.3 will bring the Hip-Hop Drop to Otay Ranch Town Center from 10am - 1pm in the large grass area in the north parking lots. 15,000 eggs will be hunted by children ages 0-12. A photo op. with the Easter Bunny will be held on this day. http://www.otayranchtowncenter.com/
Daybreak Church is hosting Eggapalooza - this looks GREAT!
free movie weekends at the San Marcos Civic Center - in the same complex as LA Fitness right off Twin Oaks Valley Rd. starts at about 630pm - no reservation needed - it is outside so make sure to bring cozy clothes & blankets. You can bring your own munchies, but several of the businesses in the complex offer discounts during free movie night.
Liberty Station Spring Fling noon - 4pm free Easter activities for the whole family!
Parade of Wheels & Egg Hunt ~ decorate your bike & join the parade! Egg hunt follows - parade at 11am, egg hunt at noon - FREE. Serra Mesa Recreation Center 9020 Village Glenn Dr
Kroc Bunny Drop - Free egg hunt & LOTS of entertainment - The Salvation Army Kroc Center
Carlsbad's Eggstravaganza Spring Festival 10am - 1pm - free egg hunt - activities are a nominal fee (we went to this last year, LOTS of fun - a bit crowded - get there early!!)
Spring Egg Hunt in Poway - free jumpers, face painting, relay races, egg hunts & more! Poway Community center - 8am - 1230

When: Saturday, April 3rd 2010, 10a-1p
Where: Large grass area in the north parking lot OTAY RANCH TOWN CENTER
MAGIC 92.5 and Z90.3 will bring the Hip-Hop Drop to Otay Ranch Town Center from 10am - 1pm in the large grass area in the north parking lots. 15,000 eggs will be hunted by children ages 0-12. A photo op. with the Easter Bunny will be held on this day.
We're offering local families a safe and fun place to enjoy the Easter Holiday. Enjoy interactive games provided by So Cal Bounce, arts & crafts provided by "The Rad Hatter" Tony Melendez, and get a FREE picture with the Easter Bunny and the whole family!

Eggapalooza ~ super fun Easter Egg Hunt & More at Daybreak Church
Daybreak Church in Carlsbad is hosting 'Eggapalooza' on April 3, 2010 from 11am - 2pm
from their website...Eggapalooza is North County's largest community-wide Easter festival hosted by Daybreak Church. Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate the season with the Easter bunny, a hip-hop kids concert, and a giant hunt with over 10,000 eggs! This year is going to be bigger and better than ever, so grab your baskets, bring a friend, and come on down!
it goes on to say there will be a ventriloquist show, pony rides, petting zoos, rock climbing wall, and more - all for free!
...they had our 3 year olds at free pony rides!
It seems like a great free event for lots of different age groups, we have not been, but have heard from others that it is awesome & we are gonna check it out this year for sure!

Egg Hunts this weekend!
Pretty much every city has some kind of Easter / Spring Festival celebration that involves an Egg Hunt this weekend or next. Make sure to check your community calendar if you don't see one here - I'm showcasing a few that we have been to & that are FREE!
There are two free events this weekend
1. Coronado Egg Hunt 1885 Coronado Ave SD ~ starts at 11am
2. San Elijo Hills Egg Hunt (San Marcos) upper soccer field ~ starts at 10am (I don't think you have to be a resident to attend, but call to double check =))
*there are TONS of things to do this weekend! The Egg Hunts are just a few, make sure to check out the calendar!*
