Nielsen Home Scan ~ Scan your purchases & earn free stuff
Click here if you are interested in applying to be a Nielsen Home. Not everyone who applies will be picked, but it is always worth a shot. We were chosen last summer and have racked up quite a few points already.
They will send you out a scanner you use to scan purchases. They ask you to scan & transmit at least once a week.
You will earn points each time you scan and also when you complete surveys. Those who scan every week are entered into drawings for some really nice prizes. I don't so much care about sweepstakes entries, but I do like that there is a catalogue you can purchase gifts from with your points.
Some people find it too tedious, I think it is kinda fun. Also point values per scan grow with how long you have been a member. When you start you get 150 points per scan, but that grows by 100 points each year for several years, so eventually it takes less time to earn points. My favorite are the surveys that usually take about one minute that equal 150 points - even faster than scanning!
This is another fun thing that you could start in January and look back in December 2010 to see how the little things have added up.

Don't forget to enter your Disney Movie Rewards points!
If your family recieved any Disney movies for Christmas make sure to enter your reward points!
Disney Movie Rewards gives you points for movies you purchase and see in the theater, but there are also TONS of online codes - I had several hundred points already piled up before I ever bought a thing!
Great Grandpa gave my daughter Snow White for Christmas - I entered the code in the box and got another 100 points!
You can buy all kinds of things with Disney Movie Rewards from stickers to snapfish books to Disney collectibles and travel certificates!

AVEDA at the North County Fair Mall
Hey all ~
today I went to the mall (again) with my special 'Aveda' freebie coupon in hand and thought I should mention my findings since most of you all will probably not be able to avoid the mall in the next couple week.
Aveda opened about one month ago, 2nd level. They sent out a coupon in the mail (ps always at least glance at 'junk mail' - I often find freebies for new stores there.) I used my coupon to make a personalized perfume, no purchase necessary.
If you did not recieve this coupon in the mail you can still go and sign up for their birthday club. They will then have you on the mailing list for promotional giveaways & a free birthday gift worth $25! I recently redeemed my free birthday gift card for some fancy customized bath salts.
They of course will try to sell you on other stuff while you are there, but they are very friendly and not 'hard sellers' at all. They were very gracious when I went in to redeem my freebie.

Great craft fair coming up in Vista ~ December 5th - FREE gift for all!
AK Karate will be holding their annual fundraising Holiday boutique this Saturday December 5, 2009
11am - 2pm
it is FREE to attend - there is also a FREE gift to all who attend and register! They will have raffles & door prizes. All proceeds from their raffle benefits their demo team. They are a great Karate School (our daughter and son attend).
they are located where Carlsbad, Vista, and San Marcos meet (very close to the 'new' Target)
