San Marcos Fire Department Open House! 10/9/10
The San Marcos Fire Department is holding it's annual Open House on October 9, 2010 from 10am - 2pm.

180 W. Mission, San Marcos 92069
Make sure to get there early - it does it get very busy and parking can be a hassle.
We went to this event last year and our kids had a BLAST! They got to try on fire fighter outfits, participate in drills, watched the pros put out a real fire, and lots of other informative but fun activities. They also left with a fire fighter hat of their very own and a bag full of goodies all for FREE!
I'm not sure what is scheduled this year but we are VERY excited to find out!

Vista Fire Stations Open House! Thursday 10/7/10
Several Vista Fire Stations will be hosting an Open House on October 7th from 5pm - 8pm. This event will be a great opportunity for your fire figher obsessed kiddos to check out the inside of the Fire Station as well as chat up a brave fire fighter. There will be activities and light refreshments too!
My little guy is so excited about this open house! He never misses an opportunity to check out a fire truck!

Open House ~ Palomar Family YMCA - free fun & joining incentives
Want to save on your gym membership? Check out the YMCA - it is SOOO much less expensive than a traditional gym and they offer similar features from a pool to Zumba & spin classes.

January 9, 2010 - Saturday
9am - 4pm
- free fitness demos, free healthy snacks, nutrition education, open gym, playground time, and fitness assessments -
also - if you join that day there is no joining fee
Join anytime the month of January and still get 50% off
(my tip - ALWAYS ask if you can still waive the fee, the worst they can say is 'sorry, no' - and they more often than not can say 'yes' if they think you are willing to walk if the answer is no - always remember, no matter how good the deal is - they are trying to sell you something - something you can get elsewhere - they appreciate your business now more than ever & usually 'joining' fees are not set in stone - think of it as a starting point for negotiations, not a price tag.) (I'm not saying to twist anyone's arm or be rude, just know that it can be adjusted that's all).
