This Friday July 30th ~ Fines Waived at County Libraries

ALL San Diego County Libraries will wave your fines for any books, CD's, DVD's, and VHS tapes that may be overdue on the last Friday of every month.  Just make sure to bring them in on the last Friday! I hope this can save you a few bucks! The library system doesn't really make any money on fines, and it helps them save money by not having to track the books down.  Win Win!

Please note this is COUNTY libraries - City and Private libraries within the county do not participate in this but perhaps have a program of their own, it never hurts to ask.

Enjoy ~

Library fees waived this Friday!

If you forgot to return your library books, DVD's, CD's, etc and are having fines pile up - keep the last Friday of the month in mind.  The library isn't mad at you, they don't really make money for the budget out of fines, they really just want their books back.

We have only taken advantage of this program once, but ours were so overdue it saved us about $15! - EVERY LAST FRIDAY YOU CAN RETURN OVERDUE BOOKS FOR FREE!

This coming Friday just bring your books, etc back to the circulation desk - it is that simple.

PS - if you have kids & don't regularly go to the library, you really should check it out! Our kids checked out 'The Aristocats' 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua', 2 audio books, and 2 regular books - plus they had so much fun at the free craft day!  I also always check out the 'friends of the library' bookstore - yesterday I treated myself to a magazine for a whole 10 cents!

Library Late Fee Forgiveness!

We are usually really good about returning the kids library books on time - oops - we went on vacation and completely forgot!  We returned to 'late' notice in the mail box addressed to our 3 1/2 year old for two books.  Both of these books are nearly 3 weeks overdue at this point.  The late fee at our library is 10 cents a day per book ($1 a day per movie!).  So the two books are gonna set me back a couple bucks right? WRONG - I am just gonna hold on to them a little bit longer because the San Diego County libraries all have a FEE FORGIVENESS program - bring any books, CDs, DVDs, etc that are overdue back on the last Friday of any month & VIOLA - fine is gone!

So my kids get to enjoy the books they checked out & I don't have to pay a fine - pretty good deal if you ask me.

Enjoy ~
