Bate's Nut Farm opens TODAY!

Well, technically Bate's Nut Farm is open year round, but TODAY is the first day the Pumpkin Patch is open - YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing against other Pumpkin Patches, but Bate's Nut Farm is our favorite! Our city kids LOVE to run through the fields and I personally love that they such reasonable prices.  Parking is free and their activities and pumpkins are no more (sometimes less) than several other pumpkin patches.

Grand Opening ~ San Marcos Civic Center Community Park

Is it just me - or does San Marcos just happen to have some of the best parks? 

On September 22nd (Wednesday) you can be there for the Grand Opening at San Marcos' newest park!  There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and light refreshments.

Little Cake's Cupcake Kitchen Grand Opening Celebration 9/22 ~ Vista

Little Cake's Cupcake Kitchen of Vista looks SO ADORABLE!  They will be celebrating their Grand Opening on Wednesday, September 22 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, free samples of cupcakes and the shop’s signature Italian Lemonade, followed by an opportunity drawing with the chance to win gift cards and other prizes.

Little Cakes is located at 30 Main St. #180, adjacent to Starbucks Coffee and across the street from the Krikorian Movie Theater.

We plan on checking it out! Our little guy is about to celebrate his 4th birthday (how did it go this fast?!) and we migbt just need some fancy cupcakes! I am excited to check them out.

New Ross in San Marcos Opens March 5, 2010

Just noticed the new Ross (which used to be my beloved Loehmann's - sigh -) has a huge sign up letting all who see it know they will be opening their doors Friday March 5, 2010.

I am not sure if they will be doing any kind of special promos - but my experience has been that when stores open they have EXTRA awesome stuff for opening day.  I think it is worth checking out.

Ross coming to San Marcos!

I don't think there was anyone more bummed than I was when Loehmann's went out of business in San Marcos, it just made me sad to see that building sit empty. =(

I was just over that way today & noticed that they are putting in a Ross - not quite as much fun as Loehmanns, but I am still pretty excited.  I will make sure to let you know when I hear of the grand opening - usually the opening weeks of places like Ross have AMAZING stuff at crazy low prices.

AVEDA at the North County Fair Mall

Hey all ~

today I went to the mall (again) with my special 'Aveda' freebie coupon in hand and thought I should mention my findings since most of you all will probably not be able to avoid the mall in the next couple week.

Aveda opened about one month ago, 2nd level.  They sent out a coupon in the mail (ps always at least glance at 'junk mail' - I often find freebies for new stores there.) I used my coupon to make a personalized perfume, no purchase necessary.

If you did not recieve this coupon in the mail you can still go and sign up for their birthday club.  They will then have you on the mailing list for promotional giveaways & a free birthday gift worth $25! I recently redeemed my free birthday gift card for some fancy customized bath salts.

They of course will try to sell you on other stuff while you are there, but they are very friendly and not 'hard sellers' at all.  They were very gracious when I went in to redeem my freebie.
