San Diego CityFest - Saturday September 11th

Our family is super excited about San Diego Cityfest!  Cityfest will take place in Mission Bay on Saturday September 11th.

Our kids are most excited about the Kids fun zone where they will get to meet Bob the Tomato from Veggie Tales, bounce on jumpies, and get their faces painted all for FREE!

Most of the entertainment is free - but make sure to bring money for food!

*Full Disclosure* It will be a bit 'churchy' - one of the selling points for many, but I am sure others appreciate the heads up.

A few fun Easter Options ~ Sunday April 4th

Looking for something to do Easter morning? Do you not have a regular church you normally attend, but looking for one to check out on Easter?  Here are a few fun options if that is what you want to do....

*Go to the beach ~ New Venture Christian Fellowship is hosting a sunrise service at the Oceanside Pier at 7:30 am

* Life Christian Church also in Oceanside has a live concert and service with an egg hunt after the service.  Service starts at 10 am

*Cornerstone Church of San Diego is having an Easter event with face painting, jumps, live music, games & crafts - 10am - 2pm (makes no mention of a service time, I think this may just be a party) National City

* The Flower Fields in Carlsbad is hosting an Easter Sunrise service at 6:30am - 'The Fields Church' free breakfast after the service for the first 500 & you are able to stay to enjoy the flower fields afterwards - I am not sure if there is an admission price applicable to the Easter Service, it looks like a free event!

Happy Easter All!

Horizon Church ~ Living Nativity - December 17, 18, 19, 20

Horizon Christian Fellowship North County is hosting a FREE Living Nativity - this is really awesome, we went last year.

Last year they had a full Nativity complete with actors as everyone from Mary & Joseph to Angels.  The live camel was a big hit with my kids!

They also had a 'market place' where you can do crafts and ride ponies (all for free).  They did have a money changing station where you could exchange for money from biblical times to buy fruit at one of the stands - it was REALLY inexpensive - like a quarter or two for some fruit & dates - it was more of a learning experience than anything else.

If you want to see a 'Living Nativity' - this is a great one! It can get busy so just come prepared to wait in a line - I think we waited for about 15 minutes for our tour - not too bad even with kids - and they LOVED it!

'Tours Nightly'
Dec 17 & 18 - 6-9pm
Dec 19  & 20 - 5 - 9pm

'Christmas Under the Stars' - Free family event December 13, 2009

The Fields Church is hosting a free family friendly Christmas event Sunday night December 13, 2009.

It looks like it will be a cozy night - bring blankets & lawn chairs (will be outside if it is clear, inside the Heritage hall if raining) - they will be singing Christmas carols & telling the story of Christmas.  There will be treats & warm drinks.

Sounds like a fun tradition to me. Thank you to Ericka for telling me about this event!
